Ascella Compliance is a regulatory compliance consultancy to financial institutions and non-bank financial services providers. Clients range from publicly traded financial institutions to newer technology-based companies. They look to Ascella for assistance with regulatory compliance matters dealing with anti-money laundering, consumer compliance and loans, state licenses and a variety of other federal and state regulations. The firm can help clients develop and test compliance and internal control programs, provide support during regulatory exams and material events, serve as an outsourced provider for compliance functions, and administer state money transmission applications. For banks and money transmitters, we provide a remittance transaction monitoring platform that monitors in real-time and produces reports on suspicious activity such as structuring, large transactions and potential hits against government watch lists.
Our in-house team includes former financial industry executives, examiners, compliance and licensing officers, attorneys, and BSA/AML auditors from institutions such as Wells Fargo Bank, the Federal Reserve Bank, the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, First Data Corporation and MoneyGram. Our Chairman is a former counsel to the Financial Services Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives. Our team’s accreditations include designations as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (CAMS), Certified Regulatory Compliance Managers (CRCM), Certified Bank Anti-Money Laundering Professionals (CBAP), and Anti-Money Laundering Professionals (AMLP). A staff member is admitted to the New York State Bar.
Our support of financial innovation and regulatory compliance has led our parent company, Microfinance International Corporation (MFIC), to receive significant backing from multilateral development agencies, including shareholdings by the Netherlands Development Finance Company and the Development Bank of Japan. Members of MFIC and Ascella Compliance have been invited to testify, make presentations, or publish about the company and industry issues for many official agencies and trade groups, such as the U.S. House of Representatives, the Money Transmitter Regulators Association, the World Bank, Financial Service Centers of America (FiSCA) and the CFSI Underbanked Conference.
Ascella has its headquarters office in Washington D.C. and satellite offices in Denver, Colorado and San Diego, California. The firm publishes a monthly compliance newsletter, ComplianceWatch, and regularly posts podcasts about regulatory compliance issues on its website, www.ascellacompliance.com.
