JAMES C. ORR

James C. Orr is managing director of James Orr Associates, a Washington-based government policy consulting firm whose clients are international finance companies, central banks and government ministries. Mr. Orr is also co-founder and Executive Director of the Bretton Woods Committee, a group of 650 corporate chief executives, former cabinet officials, and other prominent Americans who advise the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the World Trade Organization.
Prior to the formation of the firm and the Committee, Mr. Orr served both Democrats and Republicans during eight years as legislative counsel to the Financial Services Committee and the International Trade and International Development Subcommittees of the U.S. House of Representatives. He recently testified to the Financial Services Committee on behalf of MFIC about efficiency, access and transparency in the remittance industry.
Mr. Orr serves as a director of TechnoServe, Inc., an aid organization helping entrepreneurial people in developing countries build businesses. He is a writer and speaker on political, finance, trade and international relations issues and has appeared as a commentator on CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, Bloomberg, C-Span and other networks. He has a B.A. in economics from Wesleyan University and an M.A. in international economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies
